Lia Stampz: Use One Color

Hello everyone!
It's time for a brand new challenge over at Lia Stampz and this month the challenge is to

Use One Color

Here is what I created.

I used the cutie Panda from the Panda Bears set. You will find him at the Etsy store, all links provided at the end of this post.

I colored him using Faber Castell classic color pencils.
The ombre tag has been watercolored using distress ink and covered in Wink of Stella. The scallop was inked using the same shade then I added some distress glitter to add a bit more sparkle. I added wink of stella and glossy accents on the tiny heart that the panda is holding.
Papers are from Basic Grey Highline paper pack, brad by MME.

Please stop by the Lia Stampz blog and play with us!

Die-cutting 2.0

Second post of today!
Another card with die-cutting and heat embossing. This time I tried something different.
I used around 7 SSS Exclusive Stamps and two Dies to create this card.
Will list the stamps at the end of this post.

Taking part in Jen Shurkus's 10th Blogiversary, I thought I'd CASE the following card of hers.

I have used the falling hearts background die along with the "love" die.
I used "I love you" to white heat emboss on black cardstock to make a contrasting layer.
Watercolored a panel cut out from Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock using Gansai Tambi watercolors and then white heat embossed several sentiments on it to give it a faux subway art look.
I made a mistake of stamping on the textured surface, hence the grungy heat embossing.

I do like the Gansai Tambi's  bright bold colors.

I hope you liked it!

SSS Exclusive Stamps used:
- Talk Bubbles 2
- Just a Love Note
- Expressions for You
- So Beautiful
- Friendship Messages
- Shoot for the Stars
- Inside and Out Sayings

Yep! I went a bit diecut crazy.

Here is what I made:

I used the SSS Exclusive Happy die plus the Apothecary labels and die set for my card.
I diecut the "Happy" die about a hundred times (or so it feels) and spent over an hour or two making the background!
When I was done with the background it looked so good I almost forgot about the agony of diecutting happy a million times (err a hundred times, sorry!).
The white on white looked very fresh and clean.

I actually planned on using the "You" die but that was TINY, it was equal to 2 times the happy die so I did what was best for my poor little hand and went with the happy one!

The sentiment is heat embossed and then diecut using the matching label die.
Added a bit of silver string to add a little bling, didnt have any silver cupped sequins on hand otherwise this would have looked absolutely complete!
Hope you liked it!
hugs and kisses,

Guest Designing at CUYL: Masking

Hello everyone!
I am so sorry I have not visited your blogs in a while. Will make sure to stop by over the weekend.
It's my third card for the Challenge Up Your Life guest DT spot.
This fortnight the theme is

Here is what I made:

This is a total Hero Arts card. Have not made one in a while.
I stamped a butterfly on a separate piece of cardstock and used it as a mask to stamp several of them on the watercolor paper.
I also masked some parts of the butterfly with my versamark pen and then clear embossed it. I also used glossy accents as a mask (thanks Tejal for the tip!).
The butterflies have been watercolored using several colours of distress inks.
Both stamps are by Hero Arts. The sentiment is heat embossed.
Stop by the CUYL challenge blog to enter!
That's all from my side today.
Have a wonderful day :)

Things have been insanely busy here and I have a severe migraine so this is going to be super short.
The theme over at Lia Stampz is

Handmade Flower(s)

Here is what I made.

I really wanted to use this adorable elephant by Lia Stampz so I made my own 0.75" pinwheel as my "handmade flower".
NOT the easiest task I tell you!
The image is a no outline one, watercolored using distress inks.
That's it from me, Sitting in front of the laptop is hurting my eyes so much!

Hello again!

I am guest designing over at Challenge Up Your Life for June/July and this is my second post as GD.

I have inked up my background using distress inks, flicked some water droplets to add texture and then sprayed it with shimmer mist. The heat embossed sentiment is from Avery Elle.
Hope you liked it!

Guest Designing at Artful Crafting

Hello everyone!
I am guest designing over at Artful Crafting today.
Artful Crafting is Pakistan's first ever online craft store (a dream come true really) and they recently launched the Artful Crafting Challenges.

This month the theme is

No Flowers

A bit about my card, I have used SSS die and stamp on a rainbow background which I created using various shades of distress inks.

For those who would like to know they are as follows: Festive berries, Barn Door, Fired Brick, Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive, Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean, Shaded Lilac and Picked Raspberry.
Please know you don't need all these shades to create a rainbow background, I just wanted to complete the card quickly without wasting time in mixing colors to make a new one.

I have layered the largest butterfly and placed it a bit offset. Added a few black splatters to balance the bold, black sentiment.

There is a ton of shimmer on the card which you cant see here but is visible in person.

Until next time,

All Dressed Up: Anything Goes

Hello hello!!
It's time for a new challenge over at All Dressed Up. The theme as always is
"Anything Goes"
I made a mini photo album with a box for boy who is turning ONE!

The balloons and pennants are hand drawn.
Added some iridescent glitter on the pennants.
Sentiment by W&W.

My shaker photo album for the little kid!

The image is called "Daddy's Little Helper"
I have colored him with Faber Castell pencils.
Wrote the "Turns One" myself and added some shadows to it.
Applied glossy accents to the alphas "Zayyan"  and to the hand cut pennants.
The Polaroid frame is made out of glitter foam sheet.

Kept the inside quite plain except for a bit of stamping on every page and attached a punched border on the edge with aa pop of green strip.
The last page is a pocket page with four tags to write on.
Hope you liked it! Do leave a bit of love if you did.
hugs and love!

Lia Stampz: May Flowers Set Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to Lia Stampz Flowers blog hop!

If you have just chanced upon this post then it's your lucky day!
We have a prize for you on each stop on the hop so don't forget to leave comments!
Here is the list:

Lia Stampz is releasing a new set named "Flowers" (pictured above with link to the shop). We have FIVE flowers in this set and ELEVEN digis in all and oh-my-god they are oh-so-fun to work with!
They are so versatile and I am going to share with you three VERY different (from each other) projects today.

First up I used Poppies on my one layer card.

I watercolored the poppies using distress inks and added wink of Stella for the shimmer. Sentiment is by SSS, I stamped it on vellum and then heat embossed it.

Can you see the sparkly goodness?!!

Next up is a heat embossed image card using Peonies.

Here I printed the image on vellum and heat embossed it. Printer ink on vellum stays wet for a while so I used that "flaw" (not so much for me) to heat emboss the image.
Maybe you can try this too and if you do try please link me up, I would love to see your work!
I added a brad to the vellum piece and some twine to give it a look of a tag. Placed a colour-wash background behind the image and layered it with champagne glitter mat. I embossed and lightly ink distressed the base to add a bit more texture.

Last but not the least, a hybrid watercoloring card again using Peonies.

Here I manipulated the image on Photoshop. Played around with it till I was satisfied with the look.
The only real watercolor element to this card are the splotches and splatter I added later on (surrounding the image). I added a bit of heat embossed vellum to balance the glittery sentiment die by Spellbinders, Brad is from an MME brad pack.

If you are still here with me then kudos to you! Give yourself a pat on your back! :)

Do not forget to leave a comment and also PLEASE answer one question,

This blog hop ends June 2nd. I will randomly draw one of the names from the comments and send them their favourite flower from this set!

Now hop on over to Tracy's blog for some more flowery goodness!
