Lia Stampz: May Flowers Set Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to Lia Stampz Flowers blog hop!

If you have just chanced upon this post then it's your lucky day!
We have a prize for you on each stop on the hop so don't forget to leave comments!
Here is the list:

Lia Stampz is releasing a new set named "Flowers" (pictured above with link to the shop). We have FIVE flowers in this set and ELEVEN digis in all and oh-my-god they are oh-so-fun to work with!
They are so versatile and I am going to share with you three VERY different (from each other) projects today.

First up I used Poppies on my one layer card.

I watercolored the poppies using distress inks and added wink of Stella for the shimmer. Sentiment is by SSS, I stamped it on vellum and then heat embossed it.

Can you see the sparkly goodness?!!

Next up is a heat embossed image card using Peonies.

Here I printed the image on vellum and heat embossed it. Printer ink on vellum stays wet for a while so I used that "flaw" (not so much for me) to heat emboss the image.
Maybe you can try this too and if you do try please link me up, I would love to see your work!
I added a brad to the vellum piece and some twine to give it a look of a tag. Placed a colour-wash background behind the image and layered it with champagne glitter mat. I embossed and lightly ink distressed the base to add a bit more texture.

Last but not the least, a hybrid watercoloring card again using Peonies.

Here I manipulated the image on Photoshop. Played around with it till I was satisfied with the look.
The only real watercolor element to this card are the splotches and splatter I added later on (surrounding the image). I added a bit of heat embossed vellum to balance the glittery sentiment die by Spellbinders, Brad is from an MME brad pack.

If you are still here with me then kudos to you! Give yourself a pat on your back! :)

Do not forget to leave a comment and also PLEASE answer one question,

WHICH FLOWER DO YOU LIKE THE MOST IN THIS SET?
This blog hop ends June 2nd. I will randomly draw one of the names from the comments and send them their favourite flower from this set!

Now hop on over to Tracy's blog for some more flowery goodness!

Sentimental Sundays: Happy Mother's Day or Really Girly!!

Hello everyone!! I have been taking some time off from commission work and TRYING to relax.
Trying being the operative word because it seems like even if I am dying to take a break, I still want to create! Puts a damper on my "break" really :p
Anyhoo, I have been watercoloring - A LOT.
I made two cards using the same image.
Our sponsor at Sentimental Sundays this week is All Dressed Up and the theme is

Happy Mother's Day/ or Really Girly

The card above is a total watercolor card using distress inks, "Party Frock" image by All Dressed Up and sentiment by MFT. The "tree" I painted myself.

The background here is watercolored but the image has been colored using Classic Faber Castell color pencils. Sentiment by SSS.

That's it for today! See you next time :)
BIG hugs!!

Lia Stampz : Embossing (Heat or Dry)

Hello everyone!!
I am so excited to share my card today for the new Lia Stampz challenge which is
Embossing (heat or Dry)

I tried my hand at watercolouring a "galaxy" background using layers over layers of distress inks! And I think it came out great!
Though I don't think I can make it again LOL This was a happy accident!
I followed the following color board and added only yellow as an extra color.

The image that I have used is Baby Boy on the Moon. The moon is watercoloured using distress ink, the boy and it's pillow plus blanket are coloured with classic faber castell colour pencils.
Sentiment heat embossed (Altenew).
I added white heat embossed stars on the background as part of my galaxy, I also added some iridescent heat embossed stars which are only visible in person. But if you REALLY look, you can see one on the top left corner and a couple to the right of the moon! :D
The heat embossed stars just pop on the watercolor background and that is what I love about heat embossing, it gives life to a project
Till next time, have a super fab weekend!

Sentimental Sundays: Colour Inspiration Board

Hello everyone!!  I am back with a new card, a CAS, OL, watercolour card. This week at Sentimental Sundays we have a lovely colour inspiration board for you.

Our sponsor this week is A Day For Daisies.

I have used "Pearls in my hair" by ADFD. Coloured her using Faber Castell classic colour pencils... tried my best to achieve an ombre look, this was the easy part! The toughest part was to watercolour the background since I don't have a laser printer there is always a chance of ink bleeding if I mistakenly brush over the printed area, so that background took a little longer to watercolour than image! HA!

Anyhoo a BIG THANK YOU for stopping by and leaving comments! I am still in the process of making my rounds. If I haven't visited you yet, I will.

Until next time!
Ciao

Happy Colours

Hello everyone! I hope you guys are doing great :) Thank you to everyone who stopped by and left a bit of love on my last project.
The flowers on my card are handmade and inked. The background was watercoloured and then I added texture paste using Tim Holtz's harlequin stencil. Check out the pic below, can you see the glittery textured goodness?

I hope you like it!

Sentimental Sundays: NO Sentiment!

Hello everyone!
The theme this week is at Sentimental Sundays is an unusual one for us,
NO Sentiments!
I think this one is a first for us :)
Our sponsor this week is Fairy Tangle Art and they have provided us with BEAUTIFUL artwork.

I have used Forget-Me-Nots Fairy Tangles by Fairy Tangle Art and have colored her using Faber Castell Classic color pencils, isn't she a beauty?! I added some hydrangeas along with the digital forget-me-nots.
I hope you like it because I had a blast coloring her! LOVE their stamps!

Lia Stampz: Color Inspiration

If you are looking for Sentimental Sundays : Springtime Flowers post, click HERE

Hello again!!! The challenge over at Lia Stampz is a color chart and such beautiful combination I tell you!

I used Lia Stampz Poinsettia Flower and watercolored the hell out of this card! LOL

I absolutely LOVED making this card and I wanted to keep it really clean and simple but also add some dimension to it so I fussy cut the flowers and layered them. Since they are digi stamps you can play around with various sizes. I think I have used three sizes of flowers here!

Stamps used: Poinsettia Flower by Lia Stampz, sentiment by Winnie and Walter.
Watercolor: Distress inks.

Hope you like it!! :) And if you missed my last post (which BTW I published just a few mins ago) it's HERE

Sentimental Sundays: Springtime Flowers!

Hello everyone!! It's time again for a new challenge over at Sentimental Sundays and this week the theme is Springtime Flowers!

I have been having a good week creating CAS cards! Today I have a very different-for-me card to share.

I started with stamping the Hero Arts blooms on the background, sprayed shimmering mist generously! Added yellow and pink layers for a bit of color, placed my image on top. To add a bit of interest to the image, I fussy cut just the sunflower from the image and popped it over the image.

The image has been colored using faber Castell classic color pencils and was donated by our sponsor this week Star Stampz (info below). Sentiment by Paper Smooches, brad by BasicGrey.

I will love it if you would leave a bit of love! Will stop by everyone's blog in a couple of days!

Runway Inspired.

Hello everyone!! I have a brand new card to share with you today which I just made. It's based on the challenge over at Runway Inspired and I loved the inspiration pic.

This card was my second attempt, in the first one I added orange to the background and it was NOT working for me so I chose to add just a splatter of orange and wee bit of silver embossing.
Created the watercolor using Distress Inks, stamps by Kaisercraft and Wplus9.

Hope you guys like it!

Sentimental Sundays: Fairies/ Fairy Tales

Hello!!
We have such a perfect theme over at Sentimental Sundays this week! It's Fairies or Fairy Tales! Perfect timing with the release of Cinderella the movie! I have not watched it yet but plan to, very soon!

Because our sponsor (polka doodles) gave us such amazing images to use, I chose to keep my card simple and focus on the image Octavia Moonfly Wistful.
I have colored her using Faber Castell color pencils, add a watercoloured element by painting freehand grass and flowers to match her look.
I hope you like it!
Hugs and love!

Sentimental Sundays: Anything Goes

Hey everyone!! The challenge over at Sentimental Sundays is Anything Goes this week! WOOT and double WOOT for our sponsor Rick St. Dennis!!
Since it was an anything goes challenge, I chose to follow the theme at Virgina's challenge which is embossing, chose Cornelia as my muse at Stamploration and following the RIC for inspiration (photo below).

My card has gold heat embossed background and the Silhouette cut word "Love". Stamps used are Altenew and Hero Arts. Watercoloured the background using distress inks. The heart shaped balloons are hand cut and glittered using distress glitter.
