VIDEO + Spellbinders February 19th 2018 Blog Hop

Hello :)
You must be here from the amazing Emily Leiphart's blog.
Welcome to Spellbinders Blog Hop.
We are featuring the following two collections today:

I will be using Die D-Lites on my projects and sharing a video for one of the cards.
First one features the Picket Fence Etched Dies and Dinosaurs Etched Dies.

Spellbinders Picket Fence Etched Dies and Dinosaurs Etched Dies | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

I just used the grass die from the Picket Fence Etched Dies.

Spellbinders Picket Fence Etched Dies and Dinosaurs Etched Dies | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

I die cut the grass a few times in kraft and inked it with Gathered Twigs distress ink. After assembly, I added yellow and warm yellow paint splatters.

Spellbinders Picket Fence Etched Dies and Dinosaurs Etched Dies | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

For the dinosaurs, I inked a panel with Crushed Olive distress ink and die cut these cuties. Then I inked them with mowed lawn while the die was still intact. I added googly eyes to my cute dinos to make them even more cuter!
Those mountain are hand drawn and then cut very roughly.

Spellbinders Picket Fence Etched Dies and Dinosaurs Etched Dies | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

For my background I used Gansai Tambi watercolours to make a night sky. Then I added clear Nuvo drops and lots of holographic glitter dots for the sparkle.

I am sure you have noticed the wonky sentiment. Well, I wrote that :p

I really enjoyed making this. And how adorable are these dies?!

Next up. I have a video for this card :) This features the Hip Llama Etched Dies.
I know a lot of people keep asking how I do my rainbow watercolour background and I always say, "like everyone else". So if you want to watch me messily watercolour a rainbow, you now have a video :p

Spellbinders Hip Llama Etched Dies | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

This is the most coolest, awesomest Llama in the town. Have you ever seen one in sunglasses?
I bet you have not! His shades are glossy ;)

Spellbinders Hip Llama Etched Dies | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

I will just share some shots with you here then you can watch the video.

Spellbinders Hip Llama Etched Dies | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

For the background I have used distress inks in Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feather, Crushed Olive, Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade.

Spellbinders Hip Llama Etched Dies | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

The sentiment bubble is hand drawn and the sentiment of course is handwritten.

I hope you liked both the cards. I swear, I had SO much fun making these.

Pinkfresh Studio Bloom and Grow Stamp Set watercoloured with distress inks | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digyo

Hello friends!
Welcome to Pinkfresh Studio Technique Talk.
You must be here from the Pinkfresh Studio blog.
The technique I am focusing on today is MASKING.
I do a lot of masking and always love the magical end result.

Pinkfresh Studio Bloom and Grow Stamp Set watercoloured with distress inks | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digyo
My card today features the whimsical Bloom and Grow Stamp Set.
I used just one butterfly and stamped a trail.

Pinkfresh Studio Bloom and Grow Stamp Set watercoloured with distress inks | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digyo

I started by stamping the pink butterfly, masked it and stamped the red one. Next I stamped the orange butterfly, masked it and stamped the one that is peeking from behind it and so on. I used only one butterfly mask for this!

After I was done stamping, I watercoloured the butterflies in rainbow colours with distress inks. Then I added black paint splatters.

Next I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock and heat embossed it in white.

Spellbinders February 13th 2018 Blog Hop

Hello friends!
You must be here from Debi's blog.
Welcome to Spellbinders February 13th Blog Hop. Today we are featuring the following two collections:

Unfortunately I hurt my hand and cant die cut a lot so I was only able to make a simple card.

Spellbinders Shapeabilities Tiara Rondelle Etched Dies Elegant 3D Vignettes by Becca Feeken and Shapeabilities Layered Happily Ever After Etched Dies Elegant 3D Vignettes by Becca Feeken | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

Spellbinders Shapeabilities Tiara Rondelle Etched Dies Elegant 3D Vignettes by Becca Feeken and Shapeabilities Layered Happily Ever After Etched Dies Elegant 3D Vignettes by Becca Feeken | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

The pattern paper is from DCWV from their Gold & White Paper Stack.

Spellbinders Shapeabilities Tiara Rondelle Etched Dies Elegant 3D Vignettes by Becca Feeken and Shapeabilities Layered Happily Ever After Etched Dies Elegant 3D Vignettes by Becca Feeken | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

I used the couple die a bit differently. I snipped off the frame they were attached to after die cutting and used them as a separate piece. I also offset them with gold to complement the gold frame and pattern paper.

Here s a closer view of the couple.

I added some pearls on the ornate gold frame and I think they look perfect.
That is all from my side. Now your next stop is Amanda Korotkova.

But before you leave!

Altenew: Build-A-Flower Peony Blossom

Hello friends♥
Today Altenew released February's Build-A-Flower which is Peony Blossom!
It is a beautiful flower with layered images to add "crinkle" or "folds" in your stamped flower without colouring it in.

Before I start, I have to share this with you. My dad saw this card on my work table and I think he touched it to see if it was die cut or one layer because he couldnt figure it out. When I returned to the room, he was like "you made this on one layer, its not dimensional? I had to touch it to see what's going on there!". I can't tell you what a compliment this is, coming from my father! He is very critical of my work so this is MAJOR. I was beaming! STILL am!

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Peony Blossom | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0
I used Altenew Crest Solar White cardstock for my front panel. I stamped the largest flower in Coral Bliss Crisp Ink for the first layer and then stamped the second layer in Vineyard Berry. I then made a mask of the largest flower to add my second medium flower. I stamped this second flower in the same colours.

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Peony Blossom | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

Next, I made a mask for the medium sized flowers and added leaves. These were stamped in Minty Mint, Just Green and Hunter Green.
After my image was stamped I added details with prismacolor pencils and softened the sharp lines a bit.

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Peony Blossom | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

I have a photo on my instagram that shows the before and after of the stamped image before and after adding pencil details. For those of you who find colouring a daunting task, this is the way to go. You already have a stamped image showing you where the shadows and highlight are so it becomes easy.

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Peony Blossom | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

In the end I tried adding a bit of shadow to my image using Morning Frost Artist Marker but the marker slipped out of my hand and left a mess on my card front. I coloured the whole panel because of this. I made sure my colouring lines were visible in order to hide the mess the marker left.
Then I added black paint splatters to hide the mess even more. It was after this step that I couldn't see the "path of destruction".
I then stamped the sentiment from Forever and Always stamp set and added Studio Katia crystals to my flowers as centers and also their clear dew drops.

This is what Altenew has to say for Peony Blossom:

"Our Build-A-Flower: Peony Blossom set includes 1 stamp set (15 images) and 1 coordinating die set (8 dies).
The Peony Blossom Build-A-Flower has a slightly different approach than our conventional Build-A-Flower sets. The stamp set has three five-petal flowers accompanied by a shading layer and a center layer. You may use these flowers as is, or layer them to create dimension. The matching dies will cut the flowers all the way to the edge without leaving a border. This will help in shaping the petals to the desired dimension when using a shaping tool (don't have a shaping tool? You can use the domed end of a pen or pencil!). We included an additional flower die and stamen dies to help you create realistic blooms! Even though we named the set 'Peony Blossom' since the petals were loosely based on Peony petals, you can let your imagination run wild and create different types of flowers! We can't wait to see what you come up with!"

Prizes:
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to six lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog for a chance to win. Three winners will be announced on the Card Blog, and other three winners will be announced on the Scrapbook Blog on 2/18/2018.

Additional Prize:
I will be drawing a winner from all the comments left here by February 16th. Winner will be announced on February 17th.
